The
circle outside the fist stands for unity of Taekwondo
family of the world. The fist symbolizes the power
and energy of Taekwondo. The colors and shapes used
on the fist are derived from "Taegeuk"
pattern that reminds one strongly of the images
of Korea, the birth country of Taekwondo. Overall,
it describes the vigor of Taekwondo gushing out
of Chuncheon, a newly emerging Taekwondo Mecca.
"Ayap"
is designed with the intent to express the friendship
between the world Taekwondo family participating
in the 6th Chuncheon Open, which is taking place
in the ideal place for the Taekwondo Park, Chuncheon,
in the beginning year of the 21st century. By the
friendship shared in this Taekwondo festival, all
Taekwondo players of the world will become one and
contribute to the growth of Taekwondo. The design
of Its head is based on the shape of a water drop,
which is closely associated with the clean images
of a lakeside city. The body represents a watercourse
and the legs and arms symbolize the energy stretching
out from the
watercourse.
